Mayor's
Easter Egg Hunt:
The Mayor's Easter Egg Hunt will be held on April 1st, 2010 at Shiloh Park on Shiloh Rd. Activities begin at 6:00pm and the egg hunting begins at 7:00pm There will be Train Rides, Prizes, Food, Games, Space Jump, Petting Zoo, Free Photo with the Easter Bunny. Click here for Flyer
Brandon
Day:
Brandon Day
is a three day festival held in May
each year. Festivities include arts and crafts, food, carnival,
a talent show and an open air concert on the third night of the event.
Past concerts have presented artist such as KC and the Sunshine Band,
Kenny Chesney, Lone Star, Tracy Lawrence, Leanne Womack and many more. Check back soon for announcements concerning the upcoming Brandon Day events.
National Night Out:
This is a night for America to stand together and to promote awareness, safety and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight to build a safer nation. Click here for more information.
Veteran's Day Celebration:
The City of Brandon hosts an annual Veteran's Day Celebration. The events begin with a breakfast to honor all veterans and active members of our military. Guest speakers for the 2008 event were Sen. Charlie Ross and Lt. Col. Thomas Holt. Following the breakfast, a parade of veterans and supporters was led through the city square to the First United Methodist Church where Boy Scout Troop 29 conducted a flag retirement ceremony. Christmas
Parade:
Brandon's Christmas
parade is held on the first Friday in December each year. The
parade begins at 7:00pm. The parade route starts at the corner of
S. College and Jasper and goes North to Hwy. 80. The parade then
turns East on Hwy 80 to Louis Wilson Dr. At Louis Wilson Dr. the parade
will head South back to Jasper St. and then West to end at the corner of
Jasper and S. College. Past themes have included "A Christmas
Vacation", "Holiday Lights", "Hometown Christmas", "A Birthday
Celebration" (in honor of Brandon's 175th anniversary), "A Dr. Seuss Christmas" and more. Cash
prizes are awarded to float winners and a coloring contest is held for
the students in K-2nd grades.
Black Rose Theatre Company:
The Black Rose Theatre Company, located in downtown
Brandon, showcases a variety of plays. |
